Below is some information that will help you understand how SpaceFox works, including demo videos.
Getting Started
Create an account
To use SpaceFox, you must have a Google Account. More information about creating a Google Account is available here.
- Visit www.spacefox.app
- Click the “App” button in the top right corner
- Click the blue “Sign in with Google” button
- Sign in with the Google Account of your choice (this doesn’t necessarily need to be the same one associated with the YouTube channel you want to use)
Connecting a YouTube channel to a Space
- Go to www.spacefox.app.
- Navigate to the Space you want to connect a channel to.
- Click the purple “Connect” button.
- A modal window will appear. Select the Google Account that has access to the YouTube channel you want to connect SpaceFox to.
- Choose the YouTube channel you want to connect to SpaceFox.
- Grant SpaceFox permission to view and upload videos to your YouTube channel.
- You should now see your YouTube channel profile details displayed below the name of the space. All SpaceFox users with access to this space will be able to upload draft videos to this channel.
Note that only one YouTube channel can be connected to a space at a time.
Creating a Space
- Log in to SpaceFox
- From the SpaceFox dashboard, click the purple button that says “Create”
- Give your space a name
- Click the purple button “Create”
You can create as many spaces as you like.
Inviting someone to share a Space
When you invite someone to share a Space, they are able to upload videos to the YouTube channel that is attached to it. They can only ever upload those videos as drafts.
- Log in to SpaceFox
- Choose the Space you want to invite someone to by clicking on it.
- Click the purple button “Invite”
- Enter the email address of the person you wish to invite. This must be the email address of the Google Account they wish to use to log in to SpaceFox. When you click “invite”, SpaceFox will send an email inviting them to create an account and join your Space.
Joining a Space you’ve been invited to by someone else
- Check your email for an invite from SpaceFox titled “invite from SpaceFox”.
- Visit www.spacefox.app and log in using the email address that recieved the invite email. Note that this email address must be a Google Account. If you don’t have one, you can create a Google Account here.
- Log in to SpaceFox.
- You’ll see any open invitations at the top of the SpaceFox dashboard.
- To accept the invitation, click the purple “Accept” button.
Using SpaceFox
Uploading a video using SpaceFox
All videos uploaded using SpaceFox will show up in YouTube Studio as draft videos.
- Log in to SpaceFox
- Select the Space you want to use to upload a video. Note that you need to connect the Space to a YouTube channel before uploading a video.
- Drag and drop your video onto the gray box labeled “Upload your videos here!” Alternatively, you can click on the gray box to use the file picker. You can upload multiple videos at once.
- Once you’ve selected a video, you’ll see status information below it. Once you see a green [success] message, your video should be uploaded to YouTube as a draft video.
Note that to upload videos larger than 100MB using SpaceFox, you’ll need a paid account. If you’d like a test video that is smaller than 100MB, you can use this one.
Upgrading to a paid account
SpaceFox users with paid accounts can upload vidoes larger than 100MB to any Space they are a part of.
- Log in to SpaceFox
- Click on the upgrade link at the top of the dashboard. A Stripe Checkout flow will load.
- Enter your credit card and biling information and press the blue “Subscribe” button.
Cancelling a paid subscription
To cancel a paid subscription, send an email to ”tryspacefox@gmail.com” with the subject “cancel my subscription”; please include the email address for the account we need to cancel.
